Southern Cross Health Insurance appoints new Chief Digital Officer
Southern Cross Medical Care Society (Southern Cross Health Insurance) this week welcomed Grant McIvor to its executive leadership team, in the role of Chief Digital Officer.
In welcoming McIvor, Nick Astwick, CEO Southern Cross Health Insurance says, “Grant is a highly experienced product technology leader, making him the ideal candidate for this critical role.
“Digital integrity has never been more important, and with nearly one million members in our care, we require exceptional leadership to continue to make it easier, more secure and more rewarding to be with us. Having robust systems which change alongside the needs of our own people is also essential.
“Throughout his career, Grant has led at a strategic level to build high-performing teams while driving the development and operation of fit-for-purpose technology systems. He has a proven track record as a values-based leader which is a great fit for member-led culture.”
McIvor joins Southern Cross Health Insurance from cloud-based software organisation Roubler (Australia) where he has been General Manager since 2022. Previously McIvor was GM – Technology (Enterprise) and Head of Technology (Financial Services) at MYOB.
McIvor says of his new challenge, “I’m excited to join the team, where I can bring together my passions for technology, Aotearoa, and health and wellbeing, to drive exceptional outcomes for our members. This opportunity allows me to make a real difference, combining innovation with a deep commitment to our community’s health."
McIvor commenced his role Monday 25 November.
